Is a protozoan flagellate that attaches to tissue in vagina and lower urinary tract.

It one of the types of  Vaginitis

Most often is transmitted sexually

Symptoms include:

   -    itchy
   -    erythema
   -    red lesions
   -    yellow discharge
   -    and a foul odor

Can be seen on microscopic slide

Treatment needs to occur in both partners:
•       metronidazole
