The Cardiovascular system can also referred to as the Circulatory system.

This is an organ system that is centered around the Heart and the system  helps regulate the body.

The circulatory system moves such things as:

- Nutrients
-  Oxygen
-  Hormones
-  Enzymes
-  Blood
-  Glucose
-  Carbon Dioxide
-  Many other important molecules throughout the body.

A primary function is to help regulate body temperature and pH.

Maintaining  homeostasis is an aspect of body temperature, pH and other functions..

Circulatory systems also deals with the Lymphatic system.

Humans have a closed cardiovascular system.

This means that blood is always within the framework of the arteries, veins and capillaries that are woven throughout the body.

Two types of fluids move through the circulatory system: blood and lymph.

The cardiovascular system and the lymphatic system collectively make up the circulatory system.

An average adult contains 5 – 6 quarts of blood.

This consists of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets along with proteins and other substances such as hormones and waste products.

Components of the Circulatory system are:
-    Heart
-    Lungs
-    Blood
-    Blood Vessels

Categories of the Circulatory system are:
-    Pulmonary circulation
-    Systemic Circulation
-    Digestive System
-    Lymph system
