Shrimp Recipes are one of my all time favorites. Shrimp is often easy and tastes great. Today – We are going to look at Garlic Shrimp and Asparagus with Lemon and Butter.

Let’s look at the slow cooker style.  For the most part, it is easy to prepare and who can argue with the ease of the Crock pot?

Garlic Shrimp and Asparagus

INGREDIENTS

–  1.5 lbs of Raw Shrimp – Medium Sized, Peeled, and Deveined
–  1.5-2 lbs of Asparagus. 1-2 bunches depending on size.
–  3 tablespoons butter
–  1 tablespoon Olive Oil
–  5 Garlic cloves – Minced
–  1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
–  2 teaspoons onion powder
–  1 pinch Salt
–  1 pinch Pepper
–  1/4 cup of Vegetable Stock
–  1/2 Lemon – Juiced
–  1 tablespoon Hot Sauce or Sriracha
–  Chopped Cilantro or Parsely – Garnish
–  **Optional – Add Mushrooms

DIRECTIONS

Prior to Cooking:
1.)  Peel Shrimp if needed

Cooking:
2.)  Start with Asparagus
3.)  Use a Non-stick skillet – Set to Medium Heat and Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter
4.)  Add Asparagus and season with salt and pepper
5.)  Cook 4-6 minutes or until crisp and tender (Use fork to test)
6.)  Set aside Asparagus
7.)  Use Same Pan for Shrimp
8.)  Add 2 tablespoons butter and shrimp
9.)  Cook 1-2 minutes on each side
10.)  Add Garlic (minced), Italian seasoning, and onion powder – stir to combine
11.)  Flip shrimp and cook on opposite side
12.)  Add 1/4 cup of Vegetable Stick and add hot sauce (if desired)
13.)  Reduce sauce for 1 minute
14.)  Avoid overcooking shrimp
15.)  Place shrimp on one side of pan and add Asparagus and stir (coats Asparagus)

Right before serving:

16.)  Add Lemon juice
17.)  Garnish as you like – Lemon Slices, Parsley or Cilantro
