Nipple discharge is when abnormal amounts of fluid are observed from the Breast nipples.
Can be seen in men and women but are much more often seen in women.
There are several types of discharge:
1.) Blood
2.) Milk
3.) Cloudy white
4.) Clear white
5.) white-yellowish
6.) Yellow
7.) Green
Several causes of nipple discharge in a non-lactating breast, such as:
- Duct ectasia
- Intraducal papilloma
- Carcinoma
- Infection
- and others
Discharge substance is quite important such as: serous, bloody, or other
Also important is if there is an associated mass, spontaneous, relation to menses, painful, and others
Often no concern should be place but other times concern should be noted
Further examination by medical provider is often helpful in determining cause
