Health care is an area of demanding and controversial health care programs, insurance and spending. Medicaid and Medicare are government run programs that account for a large portion of health care cost.
Is Medicaid Really That Important?
Medicaid began in 1965 under the Social Security ACT under Title XIX. Harry Truman initiated the idea of a national health insurance plan in 1945. Many worried about a “socialized health care” transformation and it wasn’t until 1965 that President Lyndon Johnson signed this plan into law. – Medicaid was initiated along with Medicare.
