Late Saturday night the House of Representatives met together to decide the fate of President Obama’s health care bill. The House worked late to pass the health care bill in a vote 220-215. The next step is a vote, in the Senate, that will take a look at the bill later this week or next. A decision is expected to be controversial and with heated discussions. Earlier on Saturday Obama met with several important Democrats behind closed doors. It is believed that their discussion included support for the health bill.
Gardasil has been the typical vaccine for HPV. Recently the The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted and approved the use of Cervarix for girls 11 and 12.
Initially, it was reported by the media and other sources that the HPV vaccine may cause girls to become more sexually active. But recent data shows that this may not be the case. HPV is a virus that has been closely associated with cervical cancer. Human papillomavirus or more commonly known as HPV has several types, but only a few types have been directly linked to cervical cancer. Other types can cause genital warts.
