Medicaid began in 1965 under the Social Security ACT under Title XIX. Harry Truman initiated the idea of a national health insurance plan in 1945. Many worried about a “socialized health care” transformation and it wasn’t until 1965 that President Lyndon Johnson signed this plan into law. – Medicaid was initiated along with Medicare.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) met today in Adelphi, Maryland to discuss the concern of two powerful medications used for pain control. The two painkillers are Percocet and Vicodin.
