The Utah Department of Corrections – Clinical Services team was named the 2012 Utah Public Health Hero for its response to last year’s high-profile botulism incident. The case impacted approximately a dozen prison inmates after they brewed and consumed an illegal substance.
Recently there was a major outback of Botulism in one of the craziest place imaginable, a prison. Botulism is a toxin that causes serious illness from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum.
A legislative audit was released Tuesday Aug 18th showing that Utah is wasting dollars assigned to medicaid by the federal and stated government. The audit was performed on behalf of the legislative committee and the findings are highly unexpected.
